I guess spoilers no longer matter to anyone over at Project Runway.
This week’s challenge was for designers to make something for Heidi Klum to wear to the Creative Arts Emmy’s. The Creative Arts Emmy’s were on August 17, which means that on August 18, there were photographs of Heidi wearing Sean’s winning outfit all over the internet. Yet, this episode of Project Runway didn’t air until August 21… Bad form, Lifetime!
So here’s the winning look that everyone already knew about by the time PR aired:
How many Muppets do you think had to die for this dress to be made?
On Thursday night, I left my Facebook page open, and my husband wrote the following status update, pretending to be me: “Project Runway was awful. I’m so over Heidi and Tim. Maybe i should start watching Pawn Stars.” Except for the whole Pawn Stars thing, he’s actually not too far off. This dress is a joke. It seriously looks like a cross between Grover and Sweetums from the Muppets:
The other looks in the top 3:
I don’t know what kind of spell Amanda has cast on the judges this season, but they have been seriously over-praising her work. She is this season’s Anya. The beading on her chest is crooked, and frankly, looks a little DIY.
This is the second week in a row where I would have chosen Kini’s dress over the winning look:
It manages to look both retro and current. It’s got a 20’s feel to it (which I love) but it’s also sexy and form-fitting, (which Heidi loves).
This is also the second week in a row that Fade’s outfit should have been in the top 3…
… and is instead completely ignored and quickly shuffled off the runway. Maybe the mullet hem is a little funky. And yes, the model is clearly stepping on the back of the dress in the picture above, but it’s a young and modern take on an evening gown.
This week, two designers were sent home. Tim Gunn will probably need to do his “save” soon, which is why they needed to get rid of an extra designer this week.
Mitchell was a wise choice:
This dress is a bridesmaid’s worst nightmare. Sadly, Mitchell’s dress wasn’t even the only gown that looked either a little bit “bridesmaid” or “mother of the bride.” His, however, was the only one with a crooked hemline that cut off at the ankles.
I did not agree with the judges’ decision to send Kristine home over Korina.
Kristine made a bad dress, but all of the dresses on the bottom 3 were bad. At least the judges liked the skirt on this one. They had nothing nice to say about the other two.
I don’t normally show the back of the dress on my blog, but this one is so egregiously bad that it just has to be seen. The only reason I can see that they kept Korina over Kristine is because she is a “prettier” girl with more of an inflated ego. In other words, she makes for better television.
I want to take a moment to comment on Sandy’a dress this week:
Yes, it looks faintly like curtains, and no, Heidi would never wear anything so matronly, but I feel like props are in order since she did not send crazy-ass shit down the runway for the first time all season.
